SynthAg is a patented nanostructured colloidal silver technology in which Ag⁺ ions are stabilised by polar polymers, forming clusters with high bioavailability. The mechanism of action of SynthAg is based on the following principles:
- DISRUPTION OF PATHOGEN CELL WALLS AND MEMBRANES:
Ag⁺ ions bind to the cell walls of bacteria and fungi, compromising their integrity and leading to cell lysis.
- INTERFERENCE WITH METABOLIC PROCESSES:
Silver interacts with the thiol groups of enzymes, inhibiting critical processes such as cellular respiration and DNA replication.
- FORMATION OF REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES (ROS):
The technology catalyses the formation of free radicals, resulting in oxidative stress and the subsequent death of microorganisms.
- PREVENTION OF BACTERIAL ADHESION:
SynthAg hinders the formation of biofilms, which are known to enhance bacterial resistance to antibiotics and antiseptics.
Laboratory tests have demonstrated that SynthAg achieves 100% eradication of pathogens — including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Candida albicans, and Lactobacillus sakei —within just 5 minutes of contact. This confirms the technology’s high effectiveness against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi.
